Many years ago, Gertjan van Dijk used to run his own bedding shop in the town centre of Kampen (Netherlands). One day, he was asked if he could supply a bed that could connect to a care bed. He searched everywhere, even abroad, but it simply did not exist. This is when he decided to develop a Couplebed himself. In 2018, he introduced the first Couplebed on the market, developed by his new company Multisleep. This appeared to be a successful move: the Couplebed is now used by many care organisations in the Netherlands and abroad.
The Couple Bed gained national prominence thanks to the Roparun, a relay race from Paris to Rotterdam. In 2018, part of the proceeds were used to make no fewer than 500 Couplebeds available for care. Many organisations submitted an application. And since then, they have had a wonderful product to bring clients and their loved ones close together.
